Instructions
Step 1: Download the Expense Budget Template
- Click the "Download" button or link for the expense budget template.
- Save the .xlsx file to your computer.
Step 2: Edit the Template
- Locate the downloaded file on your device and double-click it to open in Microsoft Excel.
- Fill in the "Actual" column with the real amounts spent for each expense category.
- Adjust the "Budget" column to set planned expenses for the corresponding categories.
- Make sure the "Category" column reflects the correct type (Operating or Personal) for each expense.
- The template automatically calculates the "Difference" and "Difference (%)" between the budgeted and actual amounts.
Step 3: Customize the Template
- Use the Home tab to change font colors, styles, or add highlights for specific rows or cells.
- Include any notes or additional expense categories as needed.
Step 4: Print the Template
- Open File > Print in Excel.
- Check the Print Preview to make sure all columns and rows are visible and properly aligned.
- Adjust the page orientation to Portrait or Landscape, depending on your preference.
- Confirm the paper size (typically A4 or Letter).
- Select your printer and press Print.
